Christine Cuenca is Site Safety Training (SST) Coordinator at La Colmena. She works with the SST Team to ensure that construction workers receive the mandatory 40-hour training in NYC, OSHA 30, and SST 10 for free. Coming from an immigrant family, she has experienced how difficult it is to receive help. She therefore believes in helping people in need. In her free time, she enjoys nature and music.

Emili Prado is a Service Referral Coordinator at La Colmena. She helps guide her community through the complex networks of city agencies and government programs. With her growing knowledge she helps connect her community to resources that aid those experiencing wage theft, workers compensation, and domestic violence. As a DACA recipient herself, she knows first-hand how difficult it is for the immigrant community to obtain proper resources due to language barriers or lack of education. She is committed to serving the community through La Colmena. In her free time, Emili, enjoys experiencing new cuisine choices throughout New York City and in between she solves various puzzles.

Jason Jimenez is Site Safety Training Instructor/Associate at La Colmena. He instructs in the training sessions and ensures that everyone attending has understood the instructions clearly. He believes that due to the language barrier, it can sometimes be difficult to seek help. He, therefore, strives to help the people with this barrier. In his free time, he loves to read comics.

Jaritzi Escamilla is Service Referral Coordinator at La Colmena. Growing up, Jaritzi has seen a lot of family and friends around her struggle with various immigrant issues. This is what motivates her to serve her community in every way that she can. She would like to make sure she gives her bit in solving the issues of the community. In her free time, she loves to de-stress by going shopping.

Abigail Dorcin is the Organizing Coordinator at La Colmena. She plans various workshops and events geared towards youth’s development and support through the Butterfly Effect, along with organizing meetings for Girls and Young Women's groups. She also recruits youth to join these programs and initiatives. It makes her happy to know that she is making a difference in the lives of the people by creating a safe environment for them to express themselves and hang out. In her free time, she loves to travel and eat food from various cultures.

Katherine Lechuga is Vaccine Education Coordinator/Site Safety Training Associate at La Colmena. She is responsible for educating people about the vaccines and creating awareness around it. She also helps the Site Safety Training Teams by scheduling classes for the training, as well as assisting the instructor. Her family is the inspiration behind her service to the community. She believes that working at La Colmena allows her access to resources that could help solve the problems of immigrants. In her free time, she likes to binge watch tv shows and movies. She also loves spending time with her friends.

Javier Grijalva is the Workforce Manager at La Colmena. He ensures tasks designed to help and support the community are performed effectively. Additionally, he supports the team members with data collection, and other administrative tasks. His desire to help the community stems from his personal experiences and family and he finds helping people and providing them with proper guidance motivating and fulfilling. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family and friends.

David Vergara is Day Laborers Worker Initiative (DLWI) Coordinator at La Colmena. He is an important bridge between Day Laborers and Employers. He ensures the well being of the workers along with maintaining good relations with the employers. It was during the Covid-19 pandemic that David was inspired to help his community. He saw the people in need and jumped in to help in whatever way he can. In his free time, he is a very good pastry chef and a cook. He also has a keen interest in construction.

​Severiano Cuenca is a DLWI Coordinator. He looks after job dispatching and outreach. He makes sure that workers find the right jobs by identifying and assessing the potential job sites. He also cleans LC2 and helps others in LC2. He likes to connect with new people in the community and educate them. In his free time, he likes to play soccer and watch games.

Jason Vargas is DLWI Associate at La Colmena. He is also a Technical Assistant in Radio Jornalera New York. He helps with breakfast and food distribution at La Colmena. He believes in helping people in need who have less opportunities than many others. In his free time, he likes playing soccer and basketball. He also loves to spend time with family and friends.

Yesenia Mata is the Executive Director at La Colmena. As the daughter of formerly undocumented immigrants, Yesenia has been advocating for immigration reform. She has been recognized as a 40 under 40 Rising Star and received a prestigious Proclamation from the City of New York for her work in the Latinx community. She was also appointed by previous Mayor DeBlasio to serve as commissioner for the NYC Racial Justice Commission and appointed by Mayor-elect Adams to serve in the immigration transition team. In her free time, Yesenia enjoys running and spending time with her cute cat.

Arlette Cepeda is the Deputy Director and supports the Executive Director and staff by creating policies and procedures that add to La Colmena's sustainability. She is also a co-creator of various programs and initiatives at La Colmena.  She is deeply committed towards improving the quality of life of the people La Colmena serves through her knowledge and skills. In her free time, she is an amazing visual artist and a photographer. When she is not creating something artistic, she enjoys gardening and music.

Charlie Jaya is the Executive Project Manager at La Colmena. He supervises the ongoing projects and helps to establish new programs for La Colmena. He believes in using the knowledge and resources at his disposal to help the community members at La Colmena. In his free time, he is an adventurous person who is into extreme sports and traveling. When he is relaxing from his adventures, he likes to try new recipes to cook delicious food.

Juliet Joseph is Finance/Grants manager at La Colmena. She manages the finances and oversees all the grants at La Colmena. Having experienced it herself, she wants to give back to the community as she herself received a lot of help when she first arrived in this country. In her free time, she loves to play volleyball.
