Stand with La Colmena in protecting our
Staten Island Community Job Center
Since 2014, La Colmena has assisted hundreds of hardworking men & women find employment opportunities and make positive contributions to the Staten Island community. Many day laborers and domestic workers come to our center seeking employment, a safe haven, access to services such as workforce development, healthcare, site safety training, know your rights workshops, legal services and defense against wage theft.
We call on our allies and volunteers to let the Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council’s budget negotiation team know, they cannot balance the budget on the backs of New York City’s most vulnerable workers. Take action today and demand that they prioritize funds for La Colmena and the Day Laborer Workforce Initiative during this budget cycle which is set to be finalized by June 30,2020.
Sign and share this petition to demand the Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council’s budget negotiation team fund the Day Laborer Workforce Initiative and save NYC day labor centers from closing.
