Emergency Response Associate

Reports to: Emergency Response Team Director

Status: Full time; Weekdays, Weekends

Location: Staten Island

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Position Summary:

The Emergency Response Team Associate is responsible for completing Relief Covid-19 Distribution Funds tasks, including attending all training. The position serves as the primary contact for the Emergency Response Team Director. The posted position is temporary, but good performers may be transferred to a permanent position at the organization. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Emergency Response Team Director to meet the organization’s needs. 

  • Ensure to follow scheduling and  planning.

  • Attend orientation and training for the Emergency Relief Team workforce for meetings and programs. maintain

  • Comply with the policies and procedures to carry out tasks.

  • Maintain accurate files, statistics of tasks, a record of hours, program and meeting outcomes. 

  • Ensure the accuracy of the data collection and available access to the information.

  • Keep sensitive information secured. 

  • Answer phone calls and check voicemails during work hours. 

  • Follow up with individuals via phone, via email to take down information.

  • Other duties as assigned.


 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or 2+ years experience in a similar role

  • Strong interpersonal and people skills 

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision (oversight); take initiative and be a self-starter

  • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint) and understanding of volunteer management databases.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with staff.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and juggling commitments and tasks; strong ability to prioritize

  • Ability to be resourceful

  • Fluent in English/Spanish
